Laying on the line

Writing this post on my back in the tent.  Just about smack on the Nevada Oregon line.  We checked out both hotels here and decided scorpions and snakes were better than bed bugs and a hundred years of funk.

I havent been a real fan of the past few days riding but this last thirty miles was pretty amazing.  We came up out of the desert along the Little Humbolt River and wound our way up the side of a mountain where the river got smaller and smaller as we got higher up in the headwaters.   Its amazing to find springs and water in the desert.  Trees and all kinds of things grow there making little strips of life in the midst of the harsh dry landscape.  As we got near the top we came into this amazing hillside of flowers.   After that we came down the other side of this mountain and man what a view!

If you look closely you can see the road winding down below :).
